Gloria (Glo) Ball

is a traveller from a family of travellers. Her Great Uncle Wlater Thomas Darker travelled the world filming his exploits. He later showed them in public halls to raise money for the war effort and included comics and trailers for the kiddies. In 1939, he travelled to London by liner to talk about the possibilities of film and an educational tool. It was reported in the newspapers of the day that he and Glo's spinster Aunt Clarice were in the Mediterranean Sea when war was declared. They returned to Australia safely .

Great Aunt Clarice went on to sail to many more ports, accompanied by a larg cabin trunk. She visited Asia in the fifties before it was a popular destination. Glo remembers the fab toys she bought back as presents.

Her grandfather Llewellyn Cadwallader Davis worked in the railways.

Her parents Beth and lloyd spent many holidays in Caloundra.

Glo was a late starter but in her fifties has made up for lost time. She has and will continue to have great adventures .
