Our new friends
Di says
After a long day of art and more art, we settled into our local lanchette for a caprinha or two. We met some beautiful young Paulistas. (hi to Vitor, Layza, Victor and Bruno). We had a wonderful evening but unfortunatley now realise that we are 3 caphrinha screamers. We staggered home past the local supermarket wehere we met yet another gorgeous young person who was keen to try his english out on us, and armed with aqua, we arrived back safely and proceeded to knock off the entire contents of the bar frigo.

Sau Paulo skyline from the park
Di says:
The biennal building is in Ibirapeura Park, a 1/2 walk from our hotel. The park is huge, but nothing really prepares you for the size of the Oscar Neimeyer pavilion built especially.

a posh hotel
Di says
Our hotel (with a big thanks to Lisa from Peregrine) is right in the thick of the best distric and 2 blocks from Avenue Paulista, a huge Boulevarde of shops. We even get monogrammed sheets and towels!!!! We are on the 11th floor just over the road from a construction site which is beginning the pile driving. It will eventually be a skyscraper, but it was amazing to see the site yesterday when there were 2 workman working with a hand saw. I hope they arenīt on a time contract.

Over the Andes
Di says
We were sad to leave Santiago as we found it an extremely friendly and clean place. It was exciting, however, to fly over the great mountain range to our next destination.

We went on a full day tour with a gorgeous and extremely intelligent young Chilean boy called Will. We visited many monuments and buildings and had a wonderful typical Chilean lunch. They love a whole cow in South America!!
